Mikrosam’s participation at the Western Balkans Human Capital Days in Tirana showcased Macedonia’s leadership in advanced automation and skills development for the future workforce.
On October 28-29, 2025, Stefani Nedelkova Kuzmanoska represented Mikrosam as a panelist at the Western Balkans Human Capital Days, organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), ESAP 3, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the European Commission. This high-profile event gathered regional partners, governments, educational institutions, private sector leaders, and civil society representatives to align human capital development with the European Pillar of Social Rights.
Emphasizing Skills as a Growth Multiplier
As a leading innovator in composite automation, Mikrosam was recognized for equipping the workforce with future-ready skills. Nedelkova Kuzmanoska highlighted that Mikrosam’s proactive approach centers on investing directly in education and hands-on experience, closely matching industry needs – crucial for driving competitiveness and innovation in North Macedonia and across the Balkans.

Mikrosam Academy and Skills Development
Recognizing the absence of formal academic programs for composite automation engineering in the Balkans, Mikrosam established the Mikrosam Academy in 2007 and partnered with the Institute for Advanced Composites and Robotics – the first private technical institute of its kind in the region. These initiatives allow students and unemployed individuals to train on real machines, alongside international experts, building solutions for global use in over 45 countries.
Answering Skills Shortages with Real Solutions
The Western Balkans faces a significant lack of practical digital, IT, and automation capabilities. While many graduates are well-versed in theory, they often lack the hands-on experience and adaptability required for modern manufacturing and high-tech engineering roles. Mikrosam closes this gap by delivering industry-certified, practical education and ongoing upskilling for production staff—often in partnership with organizations such as the UNDP since 2011.
Leading Innovation & Regional Transformation
Mikrosam doesn’t just educate; it collaborates. As part of the consortium of Macedonia’s official European Digital Innovation Hub, Mikrosam extends its advanced testing labs, robotic platforms, and expertise to industry and academia across the region. This positions Mikrosam as both a contributor to and a driver of the region’s digital transformation. By accelerating skills development and fostering continuous learning, Mikrosam is helping transition the Western Balkans to a hub of world-class engineering and automation talent.
Event Impact: Catalyzing Regional Growth
The Human Capital Days provided Mikrosam with a regional platform to champion the integration of business, education, and policy toward inclusive growth, competitiveness, and EU alignment. With nearly 330 production lines installed worldwide, Mikrosam showed how combining industry leadership and hands-on talent development can position the Western Balkans for global economic success. Mikrosam’s ongoing mission is to invest in people, lead transformation, and make the Balkans a magnet for top-tier talent in automation and composites.
