From a Small Family Company to a Global Technology Leader

The interview titled “Per Aspera ad Astra” presents Mikrosam’s journey from a small family company founded in 1990 to a global leader in robotic and CNC machines for the composites industry. What began with only five employees has grown into a company with around 190 employees, continuous investment in knowledge, and a strong focus on future-oriented projects.
Today, Mikrosam is recognized as one of the rare companies in the world that has installed more than 370 production lines in over 45 countries, including Germany, the USA, Japan, China, India, Israel, and Korea.
The interview also highlights important milestones in Mikrosam’s development, including the production of its first filament winding machine in 1996, the promotion of the first Macedonian robot integrated into a machine for the aerospace composites industry in 1999, and the opening of the Institute for Advanced Composites and Robotics in 2009.
Dedicated to Innovation
A central theme of the interview is Mikrosam’s continuous commitment to innovation. Over the years, the company has developed advanced solutions for filament winding, automated fiber placement, prepreg production, thermoplastic consolidation, and robotic systems for high-performance composite structures.
Among the highlighted achievements is Mikrosam’s work with NASA and General Atomics on the first multi-robot cell for tool-less thermoplastic composite layup for space applications, as well as advanced automated lines for LPG and CNG tanks. The article also emphasizes Mikrosam’s role in hydrogen storage technologies and its support for next-generation hydrogen tank production.

A Recognition for the Entire Mikrosam Team
Prof. Dr. Samakoski’s inclusion in the monograph is not only a recognition of his personal vision and entrepreneurial journey, but also a recognition of the dedication, creativity, and expertise of the entire Mikrosam team.
For more than three decades, Mikrosam has remained committed to solving complex engineering challenges, developing advanced technologies, and representing North Macedonia on the global stage as a true ambassador of innovation.
